You can either hook up the drive to a desktop PC or you can buy an external USB drive enclosure. The drive enclosure's are fairly cheap and they will work with any USB port.

If you opt to hook it up to your desktop, then your desktop will need a free SATA or IDE hard drive port to hook it up to. Some manufacturer computers go a bit cheap on the hard drive connectors and only give you cable that connects to only a single hard drive.

I would suggest the external USB drive enclosure. You can find them at just about any computer store. Just bring the drive in with you and the folks that work there can ensure you get a drive enclosure that fits your specific drive type.

Hi. djrumpy is correct if you want to just read the data (and copy it if you want). Most external drives use a USB port (USB 2.0 is much faster) and just plugging it in will connect it to your computer. It will show up in "My Computer" and "Windows Explorer" and the files can be looked at, copied, or whatever you like. Have fun!

I think once you connect the Hard drive you can browes the files directly from my computer
