The President has a few judicial powers as part of constitutional checks and balances.
- Appoint Article III Federal Judges (life appointment)
- Appoint to limited Article I courts
- Appoint commissioners to federal commissions that make quasi-judicial decisions (SEC, FCC, FTC, etc)
- Focus on the prosecution of certain types of crimes (DOJ), and appeal to higher courts
- Grant Pardons, Repreives, Commutations to convicts

He has the power to nominate Federal judges, includes Associate Justices of the Supreme Court and the person to be Chief Justice of the United States. That authority is contained in Article Two Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution. However, all of those nominations are made subject to the advice and consent of the United States Senate under authority granted to them under the same Article and Section.
There are some who feel those nominations which are consented to will be a way that a President can influence decisions entered into by the Supreme Court. However, in many cases, Presidents who attempted that had it backfire on him. The classic example was President Eisenhower naming Earl Warren as Chief Justice of the United States, figuring that Warren would be a center-right vote on the Supreme Court. Warren was the one who wrote the majority opinion in Brown versus Topeka Board of Education in 1954 that ended segregated public schools in the U.S.

Constitutionally: Appointment, directly.

Indirectly, which cases are prosecuted or appealed through the Justice Department. Power to release funds or not, short term.

Depends on whether the judge is chosen for life or is elected for a specific term. Judges for life can't be influenced by any type of pressure that's legal, but judges with set terms can be threatened with termination or lack of political support in the next election.
