Two days ago i went to the doctor because i have had alot of nausea/ loss of appetite since early september. I thought i would just be prescribed antibiotics or something and it would be all over. My doctor suggested the possibility that im pregnant. I hadnt even thought about it, but i havent been on birth control for a few months, but we have been using the pullout method.
Im not nauseated in the morning, im nauseated all day sometimes. i have lost 7 pounds.
I have had two missed periods, but i am very irregular anyways.
My nipples are sore, but my breasts arent.
Im extremelyyyyyy tired...but it could just be stress i suppose.
and i have been peeing a little more than usual.
I would be around 8 weeks i would think.

My doctor gave me a qualitative blood test, and it was negative.
If i have enough of that hormone to be having symptoms, i would have to show up on a blood test right?
But i have heard of women who dont show up positive until 3 months or longer.
what do you think?

I also read this HCG levels chart and even at 5 weeks a level of 18 mIU/ml is normal, and the doctors blood tests usually cut off around 25 mIU/ml.
Can i request another blood test in a few weeks? or does the doctor have to request it?

I could be less than 8 weeks too, because we still havent gotten birth control yet.

At 8 weeks with symptoms like yours a blood test should have given you a postive if you were really pregnant.

Something else must be going on.

It's true some women don't find out until 3 months or later, but that's because they have been experiencing bleeding that they thought was a period, and because they had no other pregnancy symptoms. In other words, their HcG levels were low for quite some time.

The amount of hormones that cause symptoms is far higher than the amount needed to cause a positive test.

You're not pregnant - the blood test would be more accurate than the presence of symptoms - especially if you've felt this way since Sept. - a blood test almost certainly would have come back positive at this point if you were.

I think that you could be pregnant. It is true some people can't find out until they are about three months, but the symptoms you have are the exact same one that have right now and I am 7 weeks along so you might just have to wait.

The pullout method doesn't work. It is very possible that you are pregnant, but around 8 weeks, I would think that it would show up in a blood test. Usually when it doesn't show up in a urine test, they can do a blood test and it'll show up.
