i know that baby boomers could get jobs mowing lawns and stuff, but in this generation nobody wants someone to mow their lawn, they get a lawn service to do it.

If you concentrate on school now and do good, you will never have to be in this place for the rest of your life. Knowledge is power and college is what you need to see for the long term. If nobody will hire you where you live, you CAN mow lawns....my generation (the baby boomers) all mowed lawns and we made a small fortune and had money for school clothes, toys we wanted, etc. I started baby sitting when I was 13 and did lawns with my 2 bothers and always had money as a teen and we had no cell phones, but I was motivated and got the money any way that I needed to get it. You can too!

There are lots of answers depending on where you and what skills you already have. For instance, do you live in a farm area? Do you have experience with animals? You might be able to offer your services to other farms or ranches in your area.

If you live in a city area you should probably consider offering to do jobs your neighbors can't or don't like doing, like babysitting, cleaning house, car washing, pet sitting, raking leaves, mowing lawns, or painting. If you have a bike, you may be able to run errands or other tasks. Also, if you're good in school you may be able to tutor other kids in your neighborhood. If you're good with computers you could offer to fix other people's computers, and clean viruses.

Also keep in mind that money is only part of what you get from a job. Any job you take (even low paying ones!) give you experience which you can use to get a better job next time. If no one will hire you for a big job now, start small and get the experience. Soon you'll be able to land a bigger job that will make more money.

Good luck!

Well, so you need money, and you already realize that in order to get it, you need to work. If transportation is a problem, then why don't you go around your neighborhood and scope out the following: check and see if any of the yards need to be cleaned up, or leaves raked or lawns mowed, even watching toddlers outside, while the mom is doing something inside.
Set yourself a price: minimum wage is ? in your area, so add in $1.50 more per hour. The best way of keeping any job is by being responsible for the work and doing your very best at it, and if you can't get there on time, then you call and tell them. You will be surprised as to how many people in your area will try and help get your goal.
P.S. I hope your parents are proud of you! I know that I would be.

You're 14 so I wouldn't worry too much about getting a job, they are hard to find at your age. How about babysitting? Perhaps the person will pick you up and bring you back.

you need money but there is no actual job you can get? even like odd job furniture moving? you could start selling weed or other drugs. and what about buying a bike to get around? These are all options.......lol
