If you don't give more information about yourself and your tastes, you'll get answers just about other people's preferences - which relies on coincidence to have any value to you.
Having got that off my chest ; Catch 22 (Joseph Heller), The Tin Drum (Gunther Grass), Love in the Time of Cholera (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), Shadow the Sheepdog (Enid Blyton), All Families are Psychotic (Douglas Coupland), The Crow Road (Iain Banks), everything by Kurt Vonnegut (Slaughterhouse 5, if you have to choose), The Wee Free Men (Terry Pratchett), His Dark Materials (Philip Pullman), Good as Gold (Joseph Heller), Lost in Music (Giles Smith), Fever Pitch (Nick Hornby), Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking-Glass (Lewis Carroll). Then you will be a man, my son, or a woman, my daughter.

Not sure what you're interested in, so here's a few from different genres-
Harry Potter (actually really good, and an easy, enjoyable read)
Michael J Fox autobiography- loads of funny stories and genuinely interesting- or Peter Kay's autobiography- v funny.
Dead Cold by Louise Penny (crime novel)

haha the missus says war and peace, l think shes tryin to be sarcastic.
me, l would reccommend REDWATCH by Gordon Honeycombe. it tells the story of a large hotel fire in london and the fire service who fought it, the lives lost and all the rescues carried out.
maybe if yer in the library at some point, have a look for it.
its superb, one of those books you just cant put down

The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Baroness Emmuska Orczy.
it's an older historical novel, set during the time of the French Revolution, and it's full of adventure, mystery, intrigue, romance, and good old-fashioned fun ....
if you like that sort of thing, I HIGHLY reccomend it.
If you don't, then you should look elsewhere.
:O)
