A 2.5 is a 2.5 and thats it. It will move a 12' boat. It would be considered a trolling motor.

what, Tennessee bass do no longer chew interior the wintry climate? once you will be fishing this wintry climate (I effective as heck am), do exactly this: tilt the motor completely down for a couple of minutes after each use, to make effective all of the water drains from the powerhead, and alter the equipment oil, purely in case you had some water intrusion (so it won't crack the gearcase via freezing). in case you do settle directly to winterize, spray fogging oil by the carb throats with the motor idling, till it chokes 'em out.

Put a blower on it with twin 1050 double pumper carbs. Also a set of headers from a 502 big block won't hurt.
