Where did I ask anything about any of the Presidential candidates? I don't like Hillary either, but I fail to see what she has to do with my asking about the book "1984"

Yes, I read that book many years ago, and it was hard to imagine how people lived in tiny apartments in skyscrapers reaching into the sky because of lack of buildable land. How the population was very controlled because of the tremendous amount of people already living.
Kinda reminds me what life might come to be if the illegal population continues in this country....
No, this is not the way I would like to live.

No one in their right mind would like to live in that kind of environment. That's the point of the book, to warn us not to allow it to happen

Yes geez that was a long time ago.
Hell no. Being told what to do, what to think, when to do things, being forced in to conformity for the sake of the greater good? Not my idea of living.
unfortunately there are people who want a nanny state (although I really doubt anyone wants one as extreme as the one depicted in the book). Some people want every one to conform to obey and to do things for the greater good. They want to stifle creativity and independence and wipe away what it means to be human for a dream called "Utopia".
I could not live like that and would not live like that.

Yes .Our nation will have a totalitarian government if
we do not continue to fight for the civil liberties of all
Americans .I would probably try to commit suicide if I were
living in that type of environment .

I tried - but it made me too mad so I only got through a couple of chapters. I think we are living in it.
