exactly how does this thing work and how long do the refills last? It doesn't seem too expensive, but if you have any helpful comments, I would appreciate it!

I have a diaper genie and don't like it. First of all the refills last me about 2 weeks and they cost about $6. You have to put the diaper in the genie close the lid and turn the knob. It gets full really quick. I prefer to put the dirty diapers in shoping bags and just toss them away.

Diaper Genies are gross and smelly. No matter how much they say they don't smell they do. Well I suppose when you baby is still a newborn and the poops arent huge and extremely stinky, they are good. But once that baby starts eating solids its over. I threw mine away when my son was like 7 months. What a waste of money! I just save my plastic grocery bags and tie them up and throw them away. That way the poop goes out with the trash every day or so.

I have one and I hate the thing. I hate that the diapers don't do right after you empty it. They just all fall down to the bottom until there is enough weight at the bottom of the plastic. I think it's more of a pain than it's worth and am giving mine away. The plastic liner thing doesn't keep them from stinking either. I bought one of those diaper pails that you put a little trash bag in and empty everyday.

its a fast way to a twist tie. its just a plastic bag installed in a contaner that once you put the diaper in it and close the to you turn the handle this twist the plastic which helps prevent oder. This helps saving time putting diapers in plastic bags every 30 mins and helps with diaper oder that can get pretty bad, if your not taking it outside every 3x a day. Its more of a time saver. But you must make sure that you clean it like any trashcan

DON'T GET THE DIAPER GENIE! Get the Diaper Champ instead! It's the same price, but you can use YOUR OWN trash bags and not have to buy those expensive refills! I have one, and I LOVE it!

I hated the diaper genie. While it did seem to contain the smell within, when I had to empty it out, the smell was overwhelming and nauseating. I found it easier to tie the diapers up in old shopping bags and throw them out.

i have the diaper genie I and i love it. i have to change the refill about every two weeks but i have to empty it about once a week. it takes alittle while to figure out how it works but once you do i swear its a life saver. it is worth the investment.

I got one and it sucks. I get flies in it, it smells horrible and not worth it. I started taking the diaper and putin the grocery bags and take it out at the end of the day and ti si much easier that way.
