I'm a Senior, started school at the end of August. I was told that most schools want you to apply this month. Thing is I'm not really ready. On my ACT I scored a 22 in most part do to Math. I'm horrible at it(usually Cs and Ds) and its affected my GPA too. My average GPA over the years is like 2.9 something. Anyway I'm not really ready to apply b/c I plan on taking my ACT again. Should I just start applying now? How would that work if I score higher on my ACT and I've already applied?
Additional info: I live in Illinois, suburb outside of Chicago. Don't plan on going to far from home. Thanks

You can apply right now, then send them your new test scores if/when you take the tests again.

You may also think about going to a Community College first, then transferring to a University after you do a couple years there. That will allow you to get your GPA up, and also work through the math classes that you need to take, without having to spend a lot of money on them.

There are three public universities in the Chicago area which accept freshman: Chicago State U, Northeastern IL U, and UIC. You might, just might, be able to get into UIC, but you would be in the bottom quarter. Students in the bottom quarter tend to flunk out.
You would be at the top of the CSU class, and towards the middle of the NEIU class.
Start applying now, you can tell them to wait to review your applications until your new ACT scores arrive.

in basic terms out of interest, do you watch Bones? anyhow. i'm sixteen and going into 11th grade. i've got been homeschooled my entire existence and clearly applaud you for doing it!! this is lots greater effective than public college. My older brother (additionally homeschooled) graduated Western Kentucky college after swimming for 4 years, with a 4.0 gpa--He grew to become into an English and history considerable, with a minor in Spanish i think of. so some distance as what form of colleges will settle for you, all types. all types must be keen to settle for you in case you meet their standards, inclusive of having taken the suitable classes and graduated with the main suitable volume of credit. determine you be conscious for FAFSA however, because of the fact it incredibly is important. you will have to fulfill with a counselor quicker or later, and he will inform you what you like. like I stated, all varieties of faculty must be keen to settle for you and in the event that they don't, it is not nicely worth going to for my area, considering the fact that homeschooling is in basic terms as solid if not greater effective than public training.
