someone close to me has turned on another human and went had a fight he drew a knife and stabbed the other man. the man went to hospital but is ok. the court case has come up but will go on till november. what r the kinda sentencings they can look at.. thanks

it took place in west midlans birmingham and they dont have evidence of it being planned. the injury was 28 stab wounds

Depends on the state. In Nevada it's considered assault with intent to commit serious bodily harm. That's at least two to five years. Since a deadly weapon was involved, the sentence is doubled.

It depends on where you are, (city, county, state) how serious the wound was, what lead up to the confrontation, who started it, etc. etc.
There's lots of unknowns here. All sorts of assult variation charges can be filed all the way up to attempted murder.

i don't know how much time but they'll probably try to get him for attempted murder which is pretty bad.
