Most any flirting is crossing the line if you are trying to maintain a long term relationship. If you had said joking, then that's a different story. I've got experience with having flirting cause the end of a very important relationship for me. Much like you, she said it was innocent flirting and just having "fun". Well, the limit of her flirting was also being tested and this caused stress on the relationship (among a few other little problems). After the relationship was ruined, she went on to have several relationships with the people that she was innocently flirting with and I suspect this innocent flirting will continue to ruin and create new relationships for her for the rest of her life. Just a point. I don't mean to say this has anything to do with you, but I do think that flirting is a test. It's a game to see how far it can go without "crossing the line". However, the thing that is often said about that is, You don't know where the line is until you cross it. my 2 cents.

I used to flirt a lot, sometimes for fun - an innocent bit of banter, but often with my own hidden agenda (not that hidden actually!) Now I flirt like mad with my bloke, even though weve been married over two years. Nothing like a bit of banter to keep the spirits up!!
