I was wondering should you wear sandals or flip flops with a halloween costume that should be barefoot to complete the look of it?

It depends on where you're going to wear it. If you're walking outside or going into public places, sandals would probably be best. If you're going to a friends house for a party, leave your sandals at the door.

Cave Woman Halloween Costume

You would look silly if not barefoot. All cave women went barefoot. What would be the reason not to? Not only would it be more accurate if you went barefoot, but just think of how much more fun it would be to go barefoot the whole time!
Not sure how old you are or your dating/marital status, but if interested in meeting guys at the party bare feet will be a real "plus".

Going barefoot is very appropriate with a fitting costume; in spite of persistent myths is it NOT dangerous, gross or unhealthy to go barefoot. Feet get very tough very quickly, our skin is made to keep pathogens out, and feet are fully washable.

However if you have sensitive feet from always wearing shoes, barefooting may be uncomfortable outdoors or if you're doing a lot of dancing; however if you can't handle bare feet or can't cover up your modern footwear with *believable* leather/suede coverings, please pick a different costume. I love costuming and even long before I started to go barefoot, I've always cringed at people who make a wonderful costume from the ankle up and have sneakers or Birks peaking out from underneath, or making some really big and ugly covers. It makes the coolest costume look like something thrown together carelessly. If you're just looking for a fun effect, that's fine with me, but if you want the costume to look good, footwear or lack thereof should fit; chose a costume you can handle head to toe.

You should go barefoot for sure! If you're going to do the costume thing, then go all the way. If your character calls for going barefoot, then do it. Of course, going barefoot feels much better anyway.

i agree with some of the other answers,go in flip flops or sandals to the party but as soonas you get there ditch the shoes at the door and go barefoot.i usually choose outfits that allow me to go shoeless such as cave womean, jungle girl,or fairy that way i can dance all night without worrying if my shoes will give me blisters

i guess it depends on where you're going to be while wearing the costume. if you'll be indoors, wear flipflops to the party and then take them off once you're inside. if you're gong to a bar or will be outdoors, wear some kind of shoes.

you could always take some fake fur or shredded cloth to match your costume, and wrap the flipflop straps in it to make the shoes detract less from the overall look.

For your own safety and self respect, and the respect of whoever sees you in costume, I would highly recommend you wear sandals. Going barefoot around your own home is fine but out in public, you're open to all sorts of dangerous, dirty, sharp objects and sources of infection.
