*state government* or a *new law/bill*?
im doing a project and the teacher wants us to find articles on 10 subjects and write about it and i only have those two left!

Well.. thats such a broad topic that its a little like asking people to research 'dirt'.

Google is prob. the best general resource, but you prob. need to fine tune it just a tad... or go to ASK and try How does a Bill become a Law? or things like that. State government is the same.. you can deal with Process, establishment, division, etc.. until you fine tune it you are going to come up with BILLIONS of hits..

but those two, plus some direction from you should solve your problem pretty easily.

try looking at the big city newspapers on the internet. Such as the New York Papers or the Washington DC papers. It very easy to find. Hope i helped

or
go to the chicagopublicschools.com
this is where you can get a database article. those are really reliable.. or use google..
if u have a chicago public library card, go to chipubli.com or w/e and use that database too. databases have great stuff. encyclopedias work too, online and off.. hope i helped
