i posted a ? the other day about when i should tell my husband that we are pregnant... i did and two days (friday night) later i had a miscarriage. i have to go to the doctor tomorrow, but for those of you who have had a miscarriage (my first) what did your doctor tell you about continuing to try to conceive? while my husband and i are very sad about this we don't feel deterred in trying but i have heard conflicting things about continuing ranging from not having to wait at all to waiting upwards of four months.
i was 6 weeks.
thanks for any answers.

I'm so sorry you lost your baby. Even when they are so young, it's tragic.

My dr. didn't say anything about waiting (I didn't realize it was a miscarriage, thought it was just a nasty period), and I got pregnant on my next cycle and carried to 41 weeks.

I'm thinking of you.

I am sorry to hear that..miscarriage can be so hard.
I was told to wait atleast 2-4 weeks after just to let you body start to cycle again and clear out the previous pregnancy from the uterus. My doctor said your body tells you its ready once you quit bleeding after a miscarriage. My first MC I bleed for two weeks while my second I bleed for 6 weeks. He never said anything about four months just weeks.

I miscarried at 12 weeks ( the baby stopped thriving at 6 weeks) had a d&c. Our doctor said that many women have at least one miscarriage in thier lives. Some do not even know that they were pregnant. Also, she said that after one miscarriage USUALLY, your chances of a miscarriage happening again are low. OUR doctor also said to give my body 2 full period cycles to get back to mormal and give my body time to heal before trying to concieve again. Good luck! Lots of baby dust to you
