Hubert Laws is a flautist who plays jazz. Try his web site: http://www.hubertlaws.com/

The flute solo in Chicago's Colour my World played by Walter Parazaider is a pretty easy transcription but I'm not sure you could exactly call it "jazz".

Consider these flutists:

* Jean Pierre Rampall on Claude Bolling's Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio
* Hubert Laws
* Herbie Mann
* Sam Most
* Ian Anderson

It's not jazz but Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson played the flute in a lot of his songs. I'm sure they are all over YouTube.

The best I've ever heard is Detroit-born Yusuf Lateef, a multi instrumentalist who played incredible flute.

check out "stolen moments" of the album Blues and The Abstract Truth, by oliver nelson. For other flute stuff, check out Yusef Lateef and Eric Dolphy.

PS-Jethro Tull is a rip off of Kirk's flute style. Tull has never given any thanks to Kirk on any of his album notes. That is a disgrace.
