Here is a great site......Redfoots.com........The moderator is Terry Kilgore and he is the one that had the artical writen in Reptiles magazine on Redfoot tortoises.......I also have gotten 3 Red foot tortoises from him, he knows what he is doing and is willing to share his knowlage with us,to have healthy, happy Redfoots....There is Redfoot tortoise care from hatchling to adult there, I have done what "his" care sheets said and ALL 9 of mine are doing perfect, healthy,no pyrmiding, and very personable .....Check it out.......There is ALOT of GOOD info....

I raise redfoots and have 10 babies of varying ages at the moment. My yearlings are all 3 to 4 inches long, the two years olds are 5 to 6 inches long. Sorry, I don't weigh them routinely, I just pick them up and make sure they feel right!

The wide variability of their growth, even with the same care, makes any chart useless for you.

Instead, measure it yourself and chart the growth. It should be pretty steady.

Measure these things once a month:
- Weight in grams
- Straight-line Carapace Length (SCL), shell just above the head ot the shell just above the tail measured with calipers or something- not along the curve. Millimeters are nicely accurate.
- Curved Carapace Length- same landmarks as above, but measured along the curve, also in mm's.

For some great care guidelines, try
