Ah, no. The CPU cache is built into the processor chip (now-a-days). 10 years ago (or more) the cache was implemented as an external memory simm, but no longer.

That depends on your motherboard. Newer ones don't have a place for it because the CPU manufacturers started adding more "level 1 cache", which is within the chip architecture. Some motherboards have a slot near the CPU socket where you can add or swap to an increased size of cache memory; "cache on a stick".
The best way to find out is to find the manual for your motherboard, or look up the model info on the mfr's website...

CPU cache is strictly in the CPU, there isn't a peripheral you can add to increase it. If you want to increase it then you will have to buy a new processor with a higher cache, but of course you will need to get the EXACT socket to fit into your motherboard and a new thermal paste to reuse the same fan with the new processor.

you may be able to increase the CPU cache by getting a new CPU, but chances are you'd be better off getting a new motherboard and CPU. it would be more cost effective to go this route depending on how old your computer is. what is it you're trying to do? you should probably talk to a system builder to find out if increasing your cache is going to resolve your issue.
good luck.

You should be looking for a fast Processor(like a quad core) then your graphics card(XFX 8800 GT by Nvidia, the cheapest card to play every game out there at medium or high, or if you don't have problem with money then crank it up to the ATI Radeon 4870 X2).Then it's your RAM(The Nvidia 2GB is the typical)and for the hard drive I will go for Seagate because I have and it's really good. And last but no least a motherboard. The best motherboard out there now is the XFX Nforce 790i Ultra.Hope I answered your question.

Cache is another term used for temporary internet files.
It's internal memory built into the CPU's hard drive.
You can increase the amount of space your CPU allocates to be used for temporary internet file storage by simply clicking on TOOLS.
Where it says "Temporary internet files", click on SETTINGS.
Then where it says "Amount of disk space to use" move the slider to increase.
Make sure to click APPLY before you close the window, otherwise your change will not take effect
