I would wait a exactly a day. If you handle your snake while its digesting, it can regurgitate it's meal.. Which is a nasty mess to handle.

These folks must be magicians, cause I handle all my snakes immediately after feeding them with no apparent regurgitation of their meals. I can't seem to get them to return to the enclosure they live in from the cage they're fed in without handling them. Gentle handling will not usually cause any problems & there's not really any other way to transfer them back to their regular enclosures. These folks seem to think that a just fed snake is a bomb ready to blow lunch at the slightest touch.

The rule of thumb is to wait at least 48 hours to prevent regurgitation, longer if the snake is large and had a large meal.

the proper answer to this is 2 days. the reasoning is to prevent aggravation to the stomach as it takes sometime for the snakes metabolism to break the food down. if you touch it and hold it during the first two days, you can potentially aggravate the stomach and cause the snake to regurgitate and cause problems to his stomach lining and other organs. good luck!
