and I was so surprised when he told me I had to bring someone along. He said because I should never accept an online date without a friend the first time. How would you react? By the way, he was an awesome gentleman.

Listen to him! If you really want to be safe Bring Someone! What can it hurt the first time? And the same with a blind date. And if no one can come with you. Meet in an open place Restaurant,Mall, park etc...Anywhere there are a lot of people. And give it time! Don't rush it! It will be worth it in the end! Good Luck!

I'm sorry but the skeptical side of me is rearing her head.........
Sounds a little too good to be true.....The first thing I thought of was sounds like a "Ted Bundy" line. I know this will probably be an unpopular answer but I just do not think you should do cartwheels over this gesture just yet. Having said that, I truly hope this is the "real deal" and you two are extremely happy together. SEE, I'm not all gloom and doom! LOL

Heather, the guy you went to dinner with is my Dad. He is a gentleman. he just wanted you to feel safe. That's why he wouldn't exchange phone numbers or anything. He's cool and funny. He said you are a very nice lady.

I say even the second date would be a good idea to bring someone. Or at least meet him there and arrange your own way home. Always make sure someone knows all of the details of where you will be. It never hurts to take extra precautions.

Yeah, he says that now, but give him another month. I'd be cautious of a guy telling you to be cautious. Bring a friend? Come on. He got to go home and tell his friends that he went out with two girls last night. It's every man's fantasy. What a perve.

I think he is right to be cautious about meeting people that they have only met online with, there are too many crazies out there who are definitely not what they seem to be!!
