Your rank in class and good SAT scores will certainly help you. However, is your high school public or private? Private schools carry more weight than public. In addtion, what major are you going to pursue? I know you are going to be pre-med, but you need a degree in a specfic disclipline. If you are going to become an engineer at an Ivy league, your math scores would probably be average to the rest of the applicants. If you are going into a liberal art, your scores should get you there. The 2 most important things in your application is your SAT score and your GPA. Extracurricular activities dont count as much as you would think. I remember my high school salutatorian had like a 4.3 GPA, and I had a 3.99, and we both applied to the same school. She had varsity track, basketball, softball, was the class treasurer, you name it, she did it. All I had was 2 years of football and an appearance at the state science fair. She was rejected, I was accepted, mainly because I did 100 points better than her on the SAT's. Your AP scores may be enough to get you out of introductory courses if you get into brown. I think you have a shot. Good luck!

You have the numbers to make it past the first cut. Obviously, the being from NY is a disadvantage given the number of qualified applicants from NY as universities like Brown like a national distribution. A lot will depend on what your letter of recommendations say and who reads your application (and what other applications they are reading at the same time).

You definitely fit the profile of what they're looking for. You should definitely apply. You can't predict the Ivy League school all that well, so nothing's guaranteed, but your chances are good.
