I think it depends on the person asking the question, and if what you say touches them in some way. I've noticed that most people just give a one or two word answer. So maybe answer a little bit more about the question asked? Isn't it all about our opinions anyway? I like to read what people think, and I give a "thumbs up" to those that really answer a question. It is very unpredictable on here. I have got a fair No. of best answers but I think a lot of it is down to luck. Sometimes I have got best answer for a very ordinary reply, but other times when I have thought I may be in with a chance I have not even got a thumbs up. The best advice is to just be yourself and answer naturally. Good luck .

I guess it depends on the question and your answer to it.
It's usually best to answer questions that you know something about the topic, not be too sarcastic (you can get away with a LITTLE bit of sarcasm sometimes!) and don't just put a smart-alec answer just to get the 2 points.
A lot of questions here are asked by people who genuinely want to know what other people know and can advise - it's not just about scoring points.
Decide what you're good at and what you know about - answer questions in that category or do a search for questions.

I think it`s getting more and more difficult in this section, as so many people are answering now, and the more answers there are to a Q the less chance of getting one. Just plod on and have fun, and you`ll end up with some eventually!

Well, I have not heard that in quite awhile: "I am trying...I know...Very trying"!
For me, it is very hard to get "Best Answer". Look at my stats! Some people are looking for someone to parrot their opinions back to them; some are not questions at all, but submitted by people who want to goad others. Some claim to be "Experts" and if you have a different opinion, they "blow up".
Then there are the truly honest questions; I do my best to give a good answer, but it is not always in me.

actually when you start all over again(like me right now) it's very hard to get a best answer! but i always say enjoy the question, the answers and the 2 free points!! if you did that you would by time have many best answers!! ^_^

I get about six a day ... voting for yourself is a sure-fire winner. I know a guy who got to 28% best answer rate just from voting for himself.

i have had a couple of best answers,the most important thing to remember is to be polite and understanding and a little bit witty,u will soon get them rollin in hun,hope this helps.take care,xx
