Yes I do. At the moment I'm reading Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. I also like Charles Dickens, Jane Austin, Arthur Conan Doyle and several others.

Are you kidding? The classics are the best! I loved all of Jane Austens books, and I like Louisa May Alcott too. Sherlock Holmes is pretty good. And one more...Shakespeare! Who couldn't love the classics? They're the best, and I have always enjoyed them more than any other books I have read. Theres something special about all of the other books. The wriitn is just so beautifal, and, since I love to write and am working at becoming an author, I can really appreciate that. They are just so clean, too. Some of the books today are just ridiculous, and I know of some that's contents aren't exactly that wonderful.

Of course, I've read a lot of classics from world literature (Shakespeare, Balzac, Dostoievsky, Dumas, Austen, Orwell, García-Marquez, Cervantes and many more - that's just a random list). I think you can't understand literature without knowing the origins and at least a part of what was written before. It's the joy of reading - being able to recognise the topics or characters from other books.

I do. I like reading classics, so that when a discussion about old literature comes up, I can converse with some background knowledge. Some I liked, some I didn't. Crime and Punishment was good, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde was actually terrible to read, like Jane Eyre, love Sherlock Holmes... those are just the memorable ones.

When I was younger, I hated reading classics, but oh the joys of GCSE and A level English Literature, I've grown to love Dickens, Shakespeare and so many others, and I can find something new in each book when I re-read them.

Normally I don't, but then from time to time we all like to read something different as reading a classic can be quite interesting. Right now I'm reading a chick lit book, but as soon as I finish it I'm going to start reading Dubliners by James Joyce. Bought it 1 week ago during my hols in Dublin. I found it quite interesting, so I decided to give it a try! I also want to read Animal Farm by George Orwell for the same reasons, as it is a classic and a "must read" book, but I'm finding it difficult to find it in Spain.

Some of my favorite books of all time are classics:

"The Scarlet Letter"
"A Tale of Two Cities"
"Pride and Prejudice"
"Persuasion"
"To Kill a Mockingbird"
"Les Miserables"

Sure, they can sometimes take more effort to understand, but they became "classics" because they have really good, really important stories that are well worth reading.

I do read classics and I do like them. However I'm not a great fan of Thomas Hardy, but Dickens, Austen are very good

Yes, I try to read things in every genre and time period.

I particularly enjoy Alexandre Dumas (The Count of Monte Cristo is one of the finest books ever written!), Thomas Hardy, Robert Louis Stevenson and Flannery O'Connor.
