Culturally, they are probably more similar to the Cornish and the Bretons in Britanny (North-west France).
But if I'd have to choose, the Welsh would be more similar to the Irish. We both have an affinity to our own languages and have Norman castles all over the place.

none, their in a class act all of their own, me from Liverpool. Irish descent, Cruikshank was me Granny's name, can't think of one welsh name
