My brother is disabled due to a brain tumor that blew up in the lower middle part of his brain. My mother was his primary care giver. She died. A few months later, my Dad married a woman who has nearly cleaned him out financially. Transferred family property out of state, converted property to cash placed in out of state banks. She has moved my Dad out of the state, away from his family and friends, he is 75+, was in good health, now in failing health due to alcoholism. She intercepts all of his phone calls, and all of his mail, pours him another drink. The one time that we visited for Christmas, she accused my sister, me, and our children of stealing a diamond ring, which turned up after we left-- in her bath robe pocket. No apology ever offered. She makes us so uncomfortable that we don't want to visit. She fights with everyone. I am willing to walk away, but I am wondering if there is anyway to protect my brother's financial future, my mom would have wanted it.
