In the case of NaI and Pb(NO3)2, which forms a yellow precipitate, what effect will it have on the reaction if you pour NaI INTO Pb(NO3)2 instead of pouring Pb(NO3)2 INTO NaI?

If those are aqueous solutions I don't think it matters what order you pour them in. It does matter when you are trying to mix a concentrated acid with water, but in your case the concentrations are probably weak enough that it doesn't matter.
