All of Europe is worth visiting, but too big for one trip.
So you will have to make a selection.

I loved Norway, but it is expensive and out of the way.
The country Luxembourg is small enough to see most of it in a few days, and pretty.
France, the capital Paris but also most of the countryside, specially the coastal areas. Which depends on what you like best, I love the western coast, Normandy and Brittany.
Eastern Europe is cheaper but as beautiful, less tourists but also less hotels and so on.

Do not just go to the big cities, Europe is very much the smaller towns and the countryside.
And the countryside is full of hotels too, as many Europeans spend their holidays there.

In July you have to book ahead, if you phone in a day ahead you know if you can get into a town. But if you are the scary kind, better book all your hotels before you start traveling.
List what makes Europe for you, like if you have always wanted to see Paris, London and Madrid no tour will do unless it does include those places.

I highly recommend Prague, Czech Republic. Not only it's a great city with great sights to see, i.e. Prague Castle, Lesser Town, Old Town, New Town, Jewish Quarter, and so on. Don't even forget about Charles Bridge! Prague has one of the best metro systems in Europe.

You can take a day trip to Cesky Krumlov, also feel free to visit Brno and/or Plzen.

you have to look at several things.
What do you like to do? drink and party, sightsee, realx?
then look at your budget....the further east and south the more "bang for your buck"so to speak as its a bit cheaper.

I have been to several places that I recommend....I would like to point out that seeing lots of places quickly is not as satisfying ( and way too tiring) as seeing less and at a more leisurly pace. It also depends on how long you want to go as well. To give you an idea, I spent 2 weeks ( or just less) in north and central Italy......travel takes time....ie going from A to B and waiting for connections etc.

I do recommend Italy...all the places I went to were lovely eg Verona, Venice, Rome, Florence, Sienna, Bologna....but I had day trips to nearby places eg to Pomepeii from Rome, to Lucca and Pisa from Florence....There are lots of people so getting away to smaller places it recommended from time to time.

If you want to consider some amazing places...try Prague....I never thought of it as a place to visit...but it WOW...sooooo pretty.
Also Croatia ( and maybe Slovenia)....its cheap, STUNNING coastlines and really relaxed.....it was one of my highlights.
There are some amazing cities like Paris, Rome that need several days to appreciate...so you may want to base yourself in a city for a week, see the city and go on some day trips like to Versailles, etc......

Do some research as well so you get to see everything you can. My sister had a policy to consider strongly a place after 3 people recommneded it to her....it generally works well.
There are MANY amazing places and most people will recommend different places to consider, so look for tihngs you would like to see eg coast, mountains, countryside, culture ( ok thats everywhere), archetechture. You will be overwhelmed with catherdrals, churches and castles!!!!
BUT its great.....
