billy joel or westlife?
i think westlife sing it better.

Westlife! Though they should stay away from the covers now, they've done enough for a lifetime. This was their best one though, and since they sang it so well and gave the proceeds to charity, I'll allow it. *winks* The video was pretty good too, with the uptown girl walking away from her uptown boys in favour of her "downtown men"!
In all fairness though I must add that I heard this version before I'd heard the original, and it's often the first version of a song that sounds best to a person, so maybe if I'd heard Billy Joel's version first i'd be voting for him.

I haven't heard the Westlife version, but I LOVE the Billy Joel one. I like most of Billy Joel's music so I think even if I heard the Westlife version, I would still like Billy Joel's better! :)

As your question asks for the best singer I have to agree with you about Westlife, but I loved the video of Billy Joels' version with that special dance they did !
