Pills are used for more than just being 99% effective against pregnancy.

Regulating periods, easing cramping and PMS symptoms around your period are only a few of the reasons.

You must take it the same time each day. Give your body a few pill packs before worrying about not getting your period when the pill pack says you should. PLEASE read your pamphlet that came with your pills if you miss a pill or two, and not ask those on YA!. ALWAYS ask your doctor for any concerns you have with the pill.

And remember, again, that the pill is ONLY 99% effective when taken as directed. Which means you can still get pregnant.

As for what the first answerer said with the Gardasil shot, I do not recommend that because it is a new drug and we have NO studies on its long term affects, it might NOT protect you against the four forms of cervical cancer it says it protects you against, and since we don't know the long term affects we don't know how serious they will be in the future.

Talk to your doctor about birth control pills. Ask ANY questions you may have and do not be afraid to ask them.

Some women have different cycles for their periods. Some women have a period every three months instead of every month. Some women have more sporadic cycles. You might just have a sporadic cycle. It also may be caused by stress. Have you been to different doctors? Maybe make an appointment with a different doctor for a different opinion. I would recommend you get a prescription for birth control pills (they are not that expensive, only about $20 a month). It is best to use two forms of protection when you have sex.

you can always get them at planned parenthood without parental consent. but here are some facts to help with your mom.
birth control pills are used for several purposes, not only for birth control-especially in young girls. one, they decrease the amount of blood loss and cramping associated with the cycle. the period will be shorter and less painful, if you are ever skipping school for periods, this would be a good one. for the athletes, bcp can be used to SAFELY manipulate your cycle in order to avoid periods at a time when you may have a big game or meet to attend. birth control pills help to clear up acne and stop premenstrual symptoms like bloating, breast pain or a bad attitude prior to the period. of course, you should still use condoms to prevent std's and get the gardasil hpv vaccine before your BF or someone else gives you hpv-80% of people get it, why should you be different

So, if you are in the phase where you wish to avoid any unwanted pregnancy and still prefer to have periods then I would rather suggest visiting at http://mybirthcontrolstore.com/ and refer many birth control pills and patches like yasmin, ortho tricyclen, plan b, lybrel or ortho evra patch.

Most of the people are using yasmin birth control pills, which they found to be 99% effective in preventing pregnancy as well as regularize your periods with lesser cramps. You may visit at http://mybirthcontrolstore.com/yasmin.html to know more about it.

If you ever with to eliminate periods completely, you'll be happy to know that FDA has approved Lybrel birth control pills, which is 365 days continuous pill. But before taking them, please visit at http://mybirthcontrolstore.com/lybrel.html to know more about them
