I like it. I live by the shore and thats one of the most majestic birds we have here.
I had a friend in middle school named Heron, but she was a girl. She didnt get made fun of though, well not anymore than any 7th grader does, but I cant recall it ever being over her name.

Awful. A heron is a big, ugly bird.

I'm not that much for it. It's definitely a unique name but that poor boy would probably be picked on a lot for being named after a bird once he gets older. Good Luck!

Heron is an okayish name. Its not hard to spell and think that when "Heron" grows up, he will probab.y be called chicken.

Only if you are a malevolent man. How about Maximillian! [or Aaron if you really like Heron, but do not want your son to hate you]

I had to read the name twice. At first I thought you wanted to name your child 'heroin'. I'm not really sure that I like the bird association either. It's kind of unique though. Eh... It's not my favorite, but I've definitely heard worse!

Well, the first thing I think of on hearing it is the long legged water bird. Also, frankly, I just don't like it. Maybe you should start over.

Hmmm.... No. The bird thing gets in the way. What about Asher? This means "happy, lucky, or blessed" in Hebrew.
