Stay at home. Go to the beach. Enjoy the sand, surf, and sky. And drink some cold beers. By doing so you save many billions of dollars. We know as much about the moon as we need to, gathering more rocks and making more measurements won't tell us any more than we know already. The United States is already broke. We are living on borrowed money. We are fighting a useless war on borrowed money. If there absolutely has to be another mission, let some other country do it. The Japanese or the Chinese. We've done it already. Let's rest on our laurels.

Show pictures of the stuff that was left there so those crazy people who say the moon landing was faked would finally be quiet and move on to some other conspiracy theory.
Or make it a giant billboard. For cheese, perhaps?

first of all, we already landed on the moon 1 / 4 of a century in the past. we've been there and executed that. to circulate returned might merely be a waste of billions of greenbacks and the expertise of NASA scientists and engineers. the sole countries who're pondering going to the moon are China, India, and Japan, and we could face it, they may well be an prolonged time in the back of us so who cares. As for Mars, which will value approximately 0.5 one trillion money, vast attempt and cooperation, and in all probability two decades of coaching and technological progression. definite it's going to be super to be the 1st on Mars, and that i've got little doubt we are able to be. yet, pondering the financial equipment is in shambles and the conflict on terror nonetheless properly below-way, im thinking that Obama has greater significant subject concerns. and likewise interior the stimulus kit, over 50 billion money is going to NASA. that's a extensive bounce from the value variety cuts they have been recieving below the Bush administration. as quickly as we get previous this financial disaster, i would be prepared approximately devoting our money, expertise, and materials to going to Mars. yet we could take care of the present subject concerns to hand.

Plant trees and other plant life under biodomes all over it until the surface is completely covered. Drill under the surface to recover the underground water. In essence turn the Moon into another living breathing planet.

very interesting points... i think we need to start making moon landings with the specific goal in mind as to how we could somewhere down the road actually colonize it....now im not talking terraforming and all that but instead, do what we did with space stations, but instead of being in orbit, they would be at rest on the moons surface... so much valuable data could be gathered its ridiculous we havnt tried yet.

take just a short trip up there .... while doing scientific stuff, have them PICK UP all the stuff left there from the last trips and bring it all back with them... then when folks ask if there's *REALLY* things left there we can tell them "NO!" and maybe they'll quit with the yammering?.....
