I never "settled!" I don't think we should ever just settle for someone because we are sad or lonely or for other reasons. Eventually we wake up and smell the Gardenias and realize that we've made a mistake. Then the lives of 2 people are in shreds. I never wanted to do that. It would be too painful. I was willing to wait for the right man. And he did come to me... in the most unique way! He was my best friend first and we had the best time together as friends. Then we fell in love... So I waited a long time for the man who is my husband... he truly is the man of my dreams! I never take him or our relationship for granted. And I know I am one lucky woman!

I've never felt that I just settled for my husband. He really is the man of my dreams. I actually had a couple of past boyfriends that proposed but I said no because I knew they were not the right one for me to marry. Every day I am thankful for the choices I made and feel incredibly fortunate. I wish everyone else could find their perfect mate, it does really make life a lot better and more fun.

I never feel as though I had to "settle" for the man I've been married to for 14 years. He's not only the man of my dreams, but I can't imagine having to live without him.

I've been married for 11 years to my soul mate, so I don't feel I settled at all. We have the kind of relationship most only dream of having.

I just got married July 14,2007... I feel like my husband is the one for me. He is like my other half. Honestly I dont think that I could find anyone like him.
I so dont think that I settled. I think that I got more then I asked for. He is amazing.
But I understand what you are saying. Sometimes you may feel like "what it there is something better? Or is this really what I wanted" But you have to think of all the positives in your life and ask yourself if you can really live with out that person.

I wouldn't call it settling but you do give up something to gain others. You will not find one persons that has everything you are looking for mainly because you don't know yourself and/or it changes over time but you will find that person that you like most of the time and when the chips are down he/she will be there with you to pick them up again.
