1) 1*10^3 umol/ml or 1 mg/ml
[mmol/l = mgs/ml]
2) Enables enzymes to work. Used in kits as it absorbs in the UV spectrum.
3) 5*10^-3 mgs/ml or 5*10^3 nmol/ml
[1 mmol/l = 10^6 nmol/l]
4) Used to measure void volumes in gel filtration columns.
5) Hb is a pigment. Isotonic concentration. If water was used the cells would burst or lyze.
6) 186.16 g in 1 dm-3 (litre) would be molar,
1 g in 1 dm-3 1/186.16 M
2 g in 1 dm-3 2/186.16 M
ans = 1.074 * 10^-2 M
7) The Molecular Mass = 17.0306 g mol-1
so 1litre 0.1M would contain 1.703069 g NH3
You have 8.8 g/l stock....

A lot of your questions are about concentration, this should give some pointers on figuring out how snurbles got there answers. It might also help when you're asked to explain how you got your answers.

(Hint at least TRY to find out for yourself, before asking others for help. At least if you can figure out why the answers given are what they are, you stand some chance of figuring out answers in more difficult cases, and won't be stuck asking others for help, forever. Sometimes knowing HOW to look, is as important as knowing the "facts")
