moon, cold lifeless hunk of afterbirth left over from forming of the universe, stars, life giving orbs of light and warmth.

The moon to me is a glorious orb reflecting the light of day, offering us a glimpse of what has happened today and maybe a peak at what tomorrows light may bring. The stars are the pinpricks of light in the darkest of night, letting us know we are not alone and twinkling dreams of far off worlds and civilizations that for now we hold only in our dreams.
Okay... I am very poetic today apparently.

The moon is a barren rocky place with little gravity, very small atmosphere. But we love her because she reflects light down on us at night keeping us company throughout our life.
The stars are massive bodies of super hot gas, releasing great amounts of energy from their fission reactions. We love the stars too because they seem to give us a system of patterns in the night sky that change as the seasons change.
Our most beloved star, the sun, is the source of the energy of life itself. It provides us with the energy to live. It gives us the warmth of the earth's surface. The sun runs our weather and ocean systems too.

The Moon is made of rock like the Earth but is much smaller with no air or water.
The stars are like the Sun, made mostly of hydrogen gas, but REALLY far away.
