Nope, the only cable car lines still used in San Francisco are the Powell-Hyde (West Fishermans Wharf to Union Square), Powell-Mason (East Fishermans Wharf to Union Square), and Market-VanNess via "California Street" (Downtown/Embarcadero to Central Van Ness). You should take a bus or some type of ferry to cross the Golden Gate. Good luck. :D

No my parents (i was young at the time) decided it was too expensive to cross a bridge when they could go around. it was nice to look at though
