Why does he have to come over and watch football at my house? He hollers and screams at the tv. He wants me beside him and I hate watching football. How many men would like to be forced to watch 4 hours of soap opera? I think of zillion other things to do and I hate the hollering and the holding of my tv and home hostage during the game. It is enough to drive me outside to do yard work only he wants me to SUFFER with him. What can I do????

Why not try inviting another couple over on game day. Order some pizza and make some snacks. At least hang out for the first quarter and then you and the other girl can escape to the kitchen for some good chat time. The guys will be entertained and enjoy the game together.

I wasn't a huge fan of football myself, until my sons started playing and I learned about the game. After I understand what the plays were and what the ref was saying, I have come to love football, and even watch it alone! It's easier to watch something when you know it is all about.

Also, if you start asking questions about every play, he might decide it's not so fun to watch with you after all.....

Compromise is very important in any relationship.

tell him for every hour he makes you watch football, he has to watch one hour of soap operas, or a whole chick flick. and that if he wants to take your tv hostage, and force you to watch something you don't want to watch, then you won't let him in the door. it's not fair to make you watch with him. however, remember he loves football, it's a passion in his life. you CAN NOT take that from him, if you do, then you never loved him at all. He just wants to share what he loves with you, it's a guys way of opening up to you. tell him you love him for it, but you hate football, and lay down the law, one hour of football equals one hour of soaps, or, just tell him he's not getting in if that's what he's going to do.

Be open and honest with him about your feelings. Tell him everything you just finished telling us. Set some ground rules. It is your house. If he can't respect your wishes, have him move on and be happy he was just a boyfriend and not a husband.

Find a boyfriend who is more compatible with you.

There are plenty of good men out there that don't even watch sport. This level of sport fanaticism sounds really tedious to me.

YOU ARE SO LUCKY you found this out before you married him. Millions of women are trapped into this and you have the opportunity to opt out!!!!! ( It is called not answering the door when he comes or telling him beforehand you will not be home) Congratulations.
