I'm not really into country music and only listen to a few artist which include her but I have learned from a lot of people who are big fans of the genre that Shania is their least favorite artist. Why is that? I mean I think she's very pretty and talented.

A lot of people in my area love her (San Diego). I love her a lot! She is great in concert. She has a new album coming out in 2008! I can't wait!

I LOVE Shania Twain and all the people who are hating on er need to get a life. Actually I just got a live performance DVD by mail and yes she doesn't dress all country but so what people. I Love Shania and I love her songs and to me Shania Twain is country music. Oh Yea she is very talented and very beautiful, gorgeous, spectacular, amazing, wow what a women she is. lol Shania Twain you rock my world. Don't listen to all these losers that hate on her, Shania Twain rocks and so do you. You have great taste in music.

Well she came in and tried to change a lot of things. She doesn't dress traditional, her videos are a little bit racy for the country crowd. Her songs are upbeat and bouncy. Not enough twang. I like her even if she is on the border of country and pop. Most traditional country listener's are more into Reba, Dolly some of her music, Loretta, Tanya and Martina. Stories are traditional country with anything that tugs at your heart and makes you feel the music in your soul.
Country to me is a mix of blues and bluegrass with some folk mixed in.
I like the old and I like the new. But I have eclectic taste in music.

I Love Shania! She is talented, and beautiful. She needs to put some more stuff out lately. I have never met a country music fan that doesn't like Shania! She is great.

Probably because her musical style is both pop and country. I like Shania. Some older people don't like modern country music at all. Instead they like the old folk country which isn't as popish. Don't get me wrong some older country music is awesome. Anyways I'm not sure maybe you should ask them why they don't like her.

Listen to Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Reba McEntire and Tanya Tucker, who, by the way are REAL country singers, who play REAL country music. Then listen to Shania Twain. No comparison. Country music is three chords and the truth, if you boil it right down.
If Hank Sr. and Patsy Cline were here today and they heard you call Shania Twain country, they'd piss themselves laughing.

Shania is at the borderline of Country and Pop (that's why country lovers dont like her music, and pop listeners do).

I think another reason people tend not to like her is that she doesn't try to adopt the "correct" look for female country singers. She's not big on western wear or tight jeans and tank tops. Instead, she goes for a glamorous look. I don't believe that sits too well with fans who expect female country singers to look a certain way.

Some artist that come out new and totally take over the music industry like she did are disliked because people know they will just be a one time wonder. And I think most of the women were jealous of her.

Not in this part of my country. she's still respected and her albums sell well. And I don't really like country music. I tolerate it. LeAnne Rhymes..yes. Shania Ttwain.. yes. Dolly Parton..no..Loretta Lynn..forget it.
