i have a sony vaio laptop.i have windows vista right now.but i want to install windows XP.i bought the original XP cd but im unable to install it.i could format vista.but when XP is being installed,its not dectecting the drives on the machine and set up exists.can any one help me with this.i need XP at any cost on the laptop :(

You will have to download those drivers into a remote USB device from Microsoft from another computer on windows. Then download them into your windows program I believe.

Yea I am 100% sure you can do it. But first of all you must have to format your drives using Windows Vista but the drives format must be in NTFS to make readable to Windows XP. When you will format your drives to NTFS then you will see that all the drives of your hard disk will appear in windows xp setup. then you can easily continue your xp setup. for further help you may contact me at chmohsinriazs@yahoo.com. Hi. 1) Format the drive using "Run>" 'cmd' then 'format c:' . 2) Set BIOS up to run from CD-ROM first. 3) Install CD and power down then up. This should install OK.
