The answer depends on the year and model of your car.

Most of the newer (post 2000 model year) no longer require a valve adjustment or spark plugs at the 30K intervals. The 30k services usually include oil and filter change, air filter, interior cabin filters, transmission fluid drain and refill, cleaning and adjusting the brakes and doing the mechanical, safety and emissions system inspections that are called out in the maintenance schedule. Most dealers charge about $250 for this service.

At 90k you also change the coolant in most cars; its about $60 to do that. Most people leave that until the timing belt is changed; on pre-2000 models that is every 90k; models after that are after every 105k (civic 110k). Timing belt packages vary by model.

If the vehicle has adjustable valves and non-platinum spark plugs (most pre-2001 4 cylinder cars and pre-1998 V-6 cars) then the services include the valve adjustments and spark plugs and run about $350 at the dealership. On those cars the cabin filters are not replaced and run extra if required.

The cars that do not get the spark plugs or valve adjustments at the 30k intervals get them every 105k (110k for Civics). the spark plug replacement is about $150 for the 4 cyl and $230 for the 6 cyl. Don't use any other plug other than the Honda factory plugs or the car won't run right and possibly cause the check engine light to come on. The valve adjustment runs about $125 for the 4 cyl and $200 for the 6 cyl.

Hope that answers your question

They are usually around $300 or so. You can probably get it done at a local lube shop quicker and cheaper. 30/60/90's are great maintenance packages to do. However dealerships list a whole gagle of items that they claim to change. Well if you car has one they change it. If it doesn't they don't. They make it appear as if you are getting a whole lot more than you are so they justify the price that way. The key items to change at 30K are the transmission fluid, and the radiator fluid. You can find other shops that will do 30K's for around $159 and they will adress the critical issues. They won't list a pile of silly items that your vehicle may or may not have on it anyway.

For instance, some vehicles have PCV valves some don't these days. In fact more than most don't these days. You will find that part on the list of things changed if needed. If you don't have it you don't need it.

The point is you have the right idea in keeping your car maintained but you don't necessarily need the dealer to do it.
