Does anyone have any idea what I would need to check next? Engine light is back on. Even had an elbow hose changed at the time the plugs were replaced in the lower half of the engine as it was found to be collapsed. No improvement in performance after all this. I would appreciate any input. Will go for a mile or two, then stutter and has no acceleration. Have tried in automatic and manual mode transmission. (Transaxle)? No real difference in performance. Very frustrating and dangerous as you never know how the car is going to act.

Replace your fuel filter.
Sounds like it's not getting enough gas.

If it is misfiring--jerking then it,s an ignition problem. If it just fades then a fuel problem is most likely.Check your coil and resistor if fitted and replace your fuel filters if you suspect fuel problem clean the filter on the fuel pick up pipe in the tank as well

have it scanned and see what trouble code comes up on the scanner, without having this one scanned you can probably spend all the money you have on it and still not get it fixed right, advance or auto zone either one will scan it for you free of charge.and then you,ll know what to do to repair it,you may have problems with the fuel pressure, but you still need to get the computer scanned on it,is the first thing i do when i get one in the shop these days, good luck with it.
