is constantly telling us that they believe Maddy is alive then why did she say the following ?

Back in september 10 , when Kate was preparing to leave portugal one can read in a Telegraph article :

"As Mrs McCann succinctly put it just hours before being named as a suspect: "The police don't want a murder in Portugal and all the publicity about them not having paedophile laws here, so they're blaming us."

Note the word "murder "

Red Chrome...... Precisely !! The McCanns just don't seem to be taking this arguido status and this whole case seriously .They seem to think that because of all their connections in high places they can just do as they please.,and we will all believe them

Your link states: "... no intention of pursuing any other lines of inquiry or actively searching for their missing daughter."

What gets me is that the McCanns seem to be saying to the investigators in Portugal "...we will not answer any of your questions... who cares what line you enquiry you are pursuing... just continue looking for Maddie !" - Shall the Police then just throw away the paper with the 40 questions they need answers to and continue looking for the child which evidence tells them is deceased ?!

I am sorry but I haven't followed your links, but I believe that Kate needs to fool the public into believing she knows something we don't, therefore scamming us into donating to the fund. I haven't donated and I am pleased I haven't. I guess secondly it's a parent's belief that the child is alive - something has got to keep them going. It is a 50-50 situation and they are going with the 'alive' theory, alive and been kidnapped by a loving family - we all know that will not turn out to be the case, unfortunately I am not an expert but if Madeleine is found alive and well living with a loving family then I will knit a hat and eat it.

Yes, it was odd. When I read it I thought that it was a strange turn of phrase, maybe that they didn't what a 'missing child' or something similar would have fitted better with what we are lead to believe they think.

Although the papers have claimed that the police suspicion was roused from bugged conversations referring to her as being dead. Of course that may not be true but this comment seems to add further fuel to that fire.

There have been a huge amount of these unfortunately comments, the worse of which was Gerry comparing Madeleine being abducted by paedophiles as being the same dreadful feeling as having an overdraft when you're a student.

Who knows - perhaps this is why they now have a spokesperson, just to be on the safe side.

It was an odd choice of words, but then both the McCanns have said odd things all the way through.
I can see what you mean but doubt if the whole truth will ever come out.

Just reading some of the answers and it is funny how some people choose to believe what the press write only when it agrees with them. If it's anti-McCann or potentially unravelling their story then they choose not to believe it - but when it supports the McCanns then of course it mus be true!

A Telegraph article?? Its sad to hear that anyone should base a question centred on the loss of a child on a newspaper article widely noted for bias, misinformation, printing blatant lies and rarely printing retractions. Until we have solid information[not senseless speculation] NO ONE can act as judge and jury. To do otherwise, is no less than a witch hunt - in the UK we believe in fair play.
