Take it one miniute, one hour, one day at a time. Surround yourself with supportive people. Find altenative uses for your time. Alcohol is a toxin, a poison to the body. You will feel better and have more $$ if you quit or limit your drinking!

Your body will automatically clear itself from alcohol once you stop drinking. Assuming you are not severely cirrhotic, your liver will probably regenerate enough to resume normal function.

If you have quit before, then relapsed, you would be better off checking into an alcohol addiction facility, or joining a support group such as AA. Many alcoholics are depressed. Perhaps a visit to a psychiatrist is in order.

I've found that the best way to fill time and ensure that you won't want to drink is to go to the gym. Drink a lot of water, do a good amount of cardio and not necessarily totally cut off your friends who are big drinkers, just don't hang out with them as much. Friends who drink excessively will make it really difficult to squash drinking. Oh yeah, and learn to appreciate the immediate and long term improvement of your your health (That awareness can act as a good motivator).

Good Luck Chief!!

I gave up seven years ago, I used to be pissed 24 hours a day, pretty much. What you do is just stop drinking alcohol. Then never drink alcohol again, ever.
You might think I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not. That's it.
Everything else is window dressing.

change your mindset, what you think of alcohol, why you use it, your reasons for no longer wanting to use it. Do as you have always done and get the result you have always got. So sometimes changing and doing things a new way can be so benefical.

All the best.
