As I have gotten older I find that it becomes harder and harder to work full time, do errands AND keep my home as clean and neat and orderly as I would prefer. I just run out of energy much sooner than I run out of things to do! ;-)
My eldest daughter has a maid who comes in twice a month as her schedule is so jam tight...but I don't think I can afford it :-(
What do you do to keep your housework done? or do you just let it 'go' ?

Right now, it is let it go. I do have to get busy sometime today and clean up this mess.
When the kids (all of them, my 2 Dan's 4) I had a housekeeper 2 days a week. But I cleaned up the night before the maid came! I didn't want the maid to see the house so messy.....I actually think i defeated the purpose LOL

I live in a Seniors Apartment complex (about 200 apartments in a 5 story building for seniors 55 and older). When I moved in, I was given the names of a couple ladies that do housecleaning here and I hired one of them. She comes in once a month and thoroughly cleans both the kitchen and bathroom including the floors, dusts and polishes all of the furniture, cleans my patio doors inside and out with Windex and does the windows as well. She even washes any dishes I may have in the sink from breakfast and makes my bed. She finishes off by vacuuming my carpet and takes out my trash. She works like a beaver and is here about two hours. I pay her $40 for the service. If I have any laundry, she will do that as well for an extra $5. In the weeks between, my sons run the vacuum cleaner when they visit on weekends. As I am confined to a wheelchair, there is no way I could do this for myself and I am totally pleased with her work.

I also work, but I work parttime, about 25 hours a week. Im tired at the end of the day, but Im home by 4:30, and I still have time to pick up and clean. Im by myself here, so my place doesnt get to messy, ( only when the grandkids are here lol) My house is small, so I dont have a problem with cleaning it, I just need someone to come and rake my leaves, Any volunteers???

I have a housecleaner who comes in once or twice a week. I still have to keep up on the dishes and the bathroom on a daily basis, make my bed in the morning and clean up after my HUGE Maine coon cat. He sheds enough every day to make another cat. I have very severe arthritis, however, so getting up and down is hard for me. That's why I have a housekeeper.

I also have someone in to do basic cleaning every other week. She vacuums, dusts and does the bathroom and kitchen fixtures and floors. I still have plenty with laundry, grocery shopping, cooking etc. There may come a time when I can no longer afford this, but I hope its a long way off.

I don't have the tidiest of homes but I do try to put things away when I've finished using them. Its the dogs who drag all their toys out and make the place like an obstacle course. I keep mornings for housework afternoons for shopping and dog walking and evening for the garden and enjoyment. It usually works.

I have a landscaper and a pool technician. As for the interior of the home I do vacuuming, washing of the tile floor in the kitchen, dishes, laundry, dusting and the like. And I'm the male half of the couple!

Well you could say I have help. It's me, myself and I. I sometimes hope it rains , so I could get the indoors tidied up and give me a break from the outdoors . I just do what I can and leave the rest for another day. Some days I don't do anything . The body sometimes needs to be recharged.

Like Slk I used to clean for the housekeeper and the exterminator guy. I want to try and get one of the professional cleaners to come in and do my fall cleaning but I am so afraid they would be intrusive and how would they know what to keep and what to throw away? Well looks like I just talked myself out of that one. lol.
