I = P (1 + r/n)^(nt)

compound anually means 1 time per year
n = 1
t = 8
P = 10,000
r = .05

I = 10,000 (1 + .05/1)^(1*8)
I = 14,774.55


use this formula for coumpouding continuously
I = Pe^(rt)

I = 10,000 e^(.05 * 8)
I =~ 14,918.25
