Roses have thicker blooms and stems & can be microwaved briefly to begin the drying process. Place covered in the microwave for 30-second increments until the plant matter is partially dried. Then place in between absorbent sheets and continue the drying process:

You need either a flower press or thick heavy books and sheets of paper towels, waxed paper, blotting paper or coffee filters. Carefully place the blooms and foliage on a sheet of toweling or paper, making sure that the specimens do not overlap. Sandwich between several additional sheets to absorb moisture, and then insert in the press or book (place additional books or heavy objects on top to add extra weight).

After a few days, replace the outer absorbent sheets, but don't disturb the pressed plants and flowers. Check after two weeks, then continue checking periodically until specimens are thoroughly dry and "crisp" to the touch, which means they are ready to use. Handle gently.

Another way to preserve roses is to mount it on the paper very carefully with tacky glue an frame it. It keeps the color beautifully. No pressing needed.

Good Luck! Hope this is helpful.

A rose is a thick flower to press. One way to do it is to remove all the petals individually and press them separately from the center, then reassemble them with a clear quick drying glue. I think there is a better way to preserve them, though. You can find special granules at a craft/hobby store that will draw the moisture out and hold the rose in it's original shape. You need a container to place the flower in and you pour the granules over it to cover. The rose will dry in place and come out looking natural.

if you want to keep them forever dry them out or leave them alive but you but should hairspray them or if you want to make them flat to go in a book get an empty book and leave it between them.
