The most reputable sites in my opinion are backstage.com and actorsaccess.com. Backstage comes from the people that used to put out Dramalogue which became Backstage which is a big industry trade paper. ActorsAccess come from Breakdown Services which is the casting service that every agent in Hollywood uses several times a day to set up auditions for their clients. How much more legit can you get? Legit doesn't mean free. You can sign up on AA For free and you can see the info for free, but to submit electronically it costs money. If the production wants a hard copy then you can send it on your own, but if they want an electronic one then you'll have to pay unless you sunscribe to Showfax ($68 per year) then you can submit all you want for free as long as you have that subscription. Backstage also has a subscription price but depending on where you live it may or may not be worth it. Do the initial search for free and see if there's enough going on in your area to justify the cost. If not, you may be able to see enough of the info to do an internet search to find the production site on your own.

good luck

No. They are all scams that are just after your money. Unless, of course you are an experienced professional and then there are some sites that are helpful. There is no magic website that will make an actor out of someone with little experience and no training. It takes years of hard work to become and actor, unless you have a famous relative.
