Many more under sad songs!

The odd thing about sad songs is that they can be happy songs as well. That song that meant everything good with the old girlfriend can make you cry with the opening notes today.
Sometimes that sad song can indicate an upcoming hope, or desire to to climb out of that sad situation. I've always believed that without the sad stuff, we'd never appreciate the good stuff.
Everything ever created by man has been made so by some driven need he didn't have.
Or, to impress a girl.
It's always about something that he doesn't have, and has to work to achieve. Sad songs are the stuff that fuel our dreams to become reality.

I know lots of sad songs, depending on whether you're ok with music from the 70s and 80s. Check on Janis Ian's album Between The Lines. Almost all of the songs on that album have a sort of melancholy to them. If you're downloading (from this album), check out Tea And Sympathy, When The Party's Over, At Seventeen (one of her more known hits), Bright Lights And Promises, Lover's Lullaby, In The Winter, Watercolours, The Come On and In Between The Lines.

Also, Billy Joel has a few that I personally like - Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel). Elton John has several as well.

My favourite sad songs are The District Sleeps Alone Tonight - Postal Service. I also find the whole Moon and Antartica Album by Modest Mouse very sad.

What do you want those for? I can give you an upbeat song and if you are in a certain frame of mind, you can take it sadly. If you really want to. But here is one of the most pretty sad songs ever.

Moby, Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad....

Here are two of my favorites:
"Creep"-Radiohead
"It was a Good Day"-Ice Cube

"Creep" is a classic song of angst while "It was a Good Day" is beautiful in it's simplicity and message. It really illustrates struggle and appreciating the little things in life.
