You must be aware that taking a taxi is the most expensive method of travel - there are taxi drivers that have a bad reputation for ripping tourists off (overcharging than the usual cost).
If you would like to take a taxi from the airport, either arrange it beforehand to be picked up or call a taxi by phone at arrival. If you have to get into a random taxi that's parked at the airport terminal, confirm the price with the driver before you get in. A ride from the Prague airport to a destination in the center should cost around 550-800 CZK.
It is always better to call a radiotaxi even if you are in Prague as it is always better and mostly cheaper than to catch the taxi on the street.
Another option to look at: Airport transfers.

Hope this helps.

Prague taxi drivers are notorious for fleecing foreign tourists. The best thing to do is to ask your hotel to arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel. This costs generally around 500 Czech Crowns, and works out as very reasonable, at about € 18. This is a very good rate considering the distance between the airport and the city centre of Prague. You can also ask them to arrange to bring you back to the airport if you wish.
Getting around Prague is very cheap on public transport, just buy one of the 3-day public transport tickets and you can use it on all the trams, the underground and the funicular on Petrin Hill.
