You see, here's how it went:

I was walking down the street, where I came across an old man who was with this dieing dog as it had been struck by a car.

No one in the neighborhood wanted to help, as it was only the old man on the street with the dog. The old man did not know English, but coincidentally was Vietnamese just as I am. I know a bit, but it was just enough for me to communicate with him.

The old man did not have a phone in his home, nor did i have a cel phone to call for help. The neighborhood had shut its door & did not want to help.

My house was a few blocks away, which I could of ran to call 4 help, but the dog was severely dieing and needed company.

Should I have left? Or stayed?

If I had left, the dog could die. If I stayed, I could of got help.

The dog was in bad condition, the old man said that he has been with this dog for quite some time on the street when he found it, and no one bothered to help.

You should have went for help.

The dog already had company, it needed help more than it needed two people instead of one to watch it die.

I hope that if I'm laying seriously injured in the street someday I dont have to depend on someone who has an ethics issue about getting me help or making sure I dont die alone.

The dog wasnt physically able to go any where so it would have been better to go and summon emergency help to get it it a vet and then come back to wait for them. The sooner it was put out of misery the kinder it would have been. If you or the old man had transportation you could have transported it.

The dog probably could have lived if you went and got help. The dog already had company and you just stood there watching it die. That is so sad.
