I assume that you have a text book so look to see what is in there. Of course you need to know the dates of the war, who won, major battles and locations and the generals and the outcomes, the reasoning behind the war, who the supporters were of each side and why. It's always nice to know how a war ended but most important is to know why it started and why people/countries took the various positions that they did.
