Good for the company. Keeps a steady demand for a specific product.

Great for the manufacturer, as they won't have a waste surplus to contend with.

Bad for the consumer, for two main reasons:

1. Hard to get the product when you want it.
2. If demand outstrips supply, the manufacturer (and retailers) will be able to keep the prices inflated for longer, and no'one will really care.
